Seraph vs Crosswalk.com

A library of Christian living articles and a Daily Prayer, with a download price of zero and no in-app purchase flag on the US listing, beside a quieter flame that never asks for an account. This page is written by the maker of Seraph — read it knowing that — and it will be generous to Crosswalk.com, because the articles and the Daily Prayer are a real reading life, and the price on that listing is zero.

Our bias, declared: we make Seraph. The linked Crosswalk.com sources support the specific download price, store descriptions, account wording, and privacy wording identified below; this is not an independent review of either app. Our product details describe Seraph’s current published offering. If we've got something wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.

The main difference

Consider Crosswalk.com if you want Christian lifestyle articles, devotionals, and a Daily Prayer on iPhone. The US listing (id449591910) on this check is titled “Crosswalk.com - Grow in Faith,” subtitle “Christian Living Articles,” seller Salem Communications Holding Corporation, bundle id com.salemwebnetwork.Crosswalk. The lockup’s developerTagline is that same subtitle string. JSON-LD Offer on that page is price 0, currency USD. Lockup offer data for this adamId sets isFree to true, hasInAppPurchases to false, and hasExternalPurchases to false. The offer title is “Get.” The lockup offer’s subtitles object is empty, so this check did not find an In-App Purchases subtitle on id449591910. buyParams on that lockup includes price=0 and salableAdamId=449591910, with pricingParameters=STDQ. updateBuyParams also includes price=0 and salableAdamId=449591910, with pricingParameters=SWUPD. We do not treat STDQ and SWUPD as one string. The tertiary title is “Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.” The description says the app “gives you access to Crosswalk.com’s enormous library of Christian lifestyle articles, features and devotionals,” names 'The Intersection of Faith and Life', and lists “Read the Daily Prayer to grow in your spiritual walk.” This check did not find the word free in that description. This page is that app. It is not the Crosswalk Church app (id1222723993), not YouVersion, not Pray.com, not First 5, not NET Bible, not Streetlights, and not Bible Hub. We do not have Android, and we do not have their article library.

Choose Seraph if you want something quieter: one flame kept daily, the whole King James Bible readable free, guided prayer paced by breath — and a hard privacy line: no account to create, no ads, and a public vow of no prayer analytics. Your prayer life stays on your device. Seraph+ is $6.99/mo or $59.99/yr on our US App Store listing and on our pricing page. The daily office is free. Sacred Seasons, including Advent, are not. There is no Seraph+ trial. The Crosswalk.com US listing does not name a paid plan. We are a silent office with a paid season. That is the fork.

Side by side

FeatureSeraphCrosswalk.com
Annual price$59.99/yrThe US listing’s JSON-LD Offer is price 0, currency USD. There is no annual line on that page. hasInAppPurchases is false. A request for Play package com.salemwebnetwork.Crosswalk returns a page titled “Not Found,” at that package URL. That page is not an annual plan, and it is not the $59.99 in the other column. The Plus page and the subscribe page print no dollar sign. We do not invent a $59.99 Crosswalk year. We do not invent a Crosswalk Plus price. We do not invent a paid plan.
Monthly price$6.99/moNo monthly SKU on the US listing. We do not invent a $6.99 Crosswalk month. The Play package request above returns “Not Found” and prints no customer dollar. We do not invent a SKU.
Family plan—None published on the pages cited here. The contact page asks “Can I give a PLUS subscription access as a gift?” and answers “Yes,” pointing at Gift Subscriptions. That gift page’s title is “Crosswalk Plus - Gift Subscribe | Crosswalk.com.” This check did not find a dollar sign on that page. A gift path is not a family plan. We do not invent a family plan, and we do not invent a gift price.
Free trialNone — the free tier is the trialThe US description does not print a number of days, and it does not contain the word free. The subscribe page does not print a number of days. We do not invent a trial. The download they price at 0 is the offer titled “Get.” This page is not Dwell.
Free, foreverDaily verse · 2 guided sessions · the whole KJV Bible (1,189 chapters) · every reading plan · streak flame · remindersThe download they price at 0, with hasInAppPurchases false on the US listing. The mobile app page says the iPhone app “gives you free access,” says “Download this free app,” and says the app “is now available for free download through the Apple iTunes Store.” We do not treat “free access,” “free app,” and “free download” as one sentence, and we do not treat them as the US description, which does not contain the word free. The contact page says email devotionals and reading plans continue “for free unless noted otherwise as Crosswalk Plus.” We do not treat that email sentence as the app download.
Subscription opensFull guided-prayer library (12 sessions) · Sacred Seasons (Advent & Lent)Nothing on the US listing is labeled as a subscription unlock. hasInAppPurchases is false, the lockup subtitles object is empty, and this check did not find an in-app purchase list. The Plus page heading is “Want full access to this content? Upgrade to Crosswalk PLUS!” with PLUS in its own span, and the list items are “Ad-free content and podcasts,” “Exclusive articles,” “Premium devotionals,” and “Downloadable Bible study and prayer guides.” The contact page separates “Ad-free,” “The Crosswalk Plus package,” and “The All Access package.” We do not treat Crosswalk PLUS, Crosswalk Plus, Ad-free, and All Access as one name, and we do not copy that website list onto the US listing. We do not invent a paid plan, and we do not invent a SKU.
Account requiredNo — no sign-up existsThis check did not find a sentence in the current US description that reading the articles requires an account. That description does not contain the word account. The contact page says “Your username and password will work across the sites included in the Salem Web Network: Crosswalk, Bible Study Tools, Christianity.com, and iBelieve,” and that after you subscribe you manage payment, password, or cancel/renew “under "MyCrosswalk".” We do not invent that opening the app requires an account.
Spoken ScriptureNone as a spoken Bible product. Breath-paced guided prayer. Full KJV readable, not narrated as a catalogue of voices. The US description is about articles, devotionals, topics, favorites, and the Daily Prayer. This check did not find a narration sentence in that description. We do not invent a voice catalogue. This page is not Dwell.
Prayer analyticsNone — a public vow. Prayer data never leaves your deviceThe labels disagree, and neither is a prayer-analytics vow. Apple’s privacy header on the US listing: “The developer, Salem Communications, has not provided details about its privacy practices and handling of data to Apple. For more information, see the developer’s privacy policy.” The privacy type is “No Details Provided,” detail “The developer will be required to provide privacy details when they submit their next app update.” That shelf’s purposes list is empty, and its categories list is empty. This check did not find a Data Not Collected shelf. This check did not find a Data Used to Track You shelf. This check did not find a Data Linked to You shelf. The Privacy Policy control points at salemwebnetwork.com/our-brands/privacy-policy/. This check followed that URL to salemmedia.com/privacy-policy/. A Crosswalk footer control points at salemmedia.com/salem-web-network-privacy-policy/, and this check followed that URL to the same policy. We do not treat those three URLs as one string. The policy is titled “Salem Media Group, Inc. Privacy Policy,” “Adopted: September 9, 2025,” “Published: September 22, 2025.” It says the practices cover “our mobile or other applications (each, an “App”),” gives “imprecise physical location” as an example of geolocation data, names “interaction with a website, application, email, or advertisement,” and says “or sell your personal information, subject to your right to opt-out of those sales.” This check did not find the word Crosswalk, this adamId, or the seller string Salem Communications Holding Corporation in that policy HTML. We print both pages. We do not invent that they describe the same collection, and we do not invent a prayer-analytics product.
ScriptureFull KJV bundled; offline on iPhoneThe US description names “Bible study,” “devotionals,” and “Read the Daily Prayer.” It does not name a bundled translation. The Plus page nav includes “Your Daily Prayer.” We do not treat “the Daily Prayer” and “Your Daily Prayer” as one name. The US description’s “Get exclusive articles and devotionals” is not the Plus page’s list item “Exclusive articles.” We do not treat those as one sentence. A different app on the more-by-developer shelf, The One Bible App, adamId 481765599, is not this column. We do not copy a Bible catalogue onto id449591910.
PlatformsiPhone and webThe US listing Information section names iPhone (Requires iOS 13.0 or later), iPad (Requires iPadOS 13.0 or later), iPod touch (Requires iOS 13.0 or later), Mac (Requires macOS 11.0 or later and a Mac with Apple M1 chip or later), and Apple Vision (Requires visionOS 1.0 or later). JSON-LD operatingSystem says “Requires iOS 13.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.” JSON-LD availableOnDevice is “iPhone, iPad, iPod.” The lockup tertiary title says “Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.” Lockup data sets isIOSBinaryMacOSCompatible to true, supportsVisionOSCompatibleIOSBinary to false, and hasMacIPAPackage to false. appPlatforms are phone and pad. The US description says “iPhone and iPad.” The mobile app page says “especially for iPhone users” and “The Crosswalk.com app for the Apple iPhone,” and this check did not find the word iPad on that page. We print all of those. We do not invent that they are the same claim. This check did not find a Play listing for bundle id com.salemwebnetwork.Crosswalk. The package URL returns a page titled “Not Found.” The Android apps page does not contain the word Crosswalk or this bundle. Size on the US listing’s Information section is 33.1 MB. The size ribbon’s paragraphText is 33.1 and its caption is MB. We do not treat those as one string. What’s New primary subtitle is Version 2.3, secondary subtitle Mon Jan 20 2020 18:43:35 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time), notes “Read devotionals and Christian living articles with the best of settings” and “We have made some helpful changes in app settings.” The description’s developerLinks shelf is Website, url https://www.salemwebnetwork.com/, and Support, url https://www.crosswalk.com/contact-us.html. The Website control’s text is “Website.” This check did not find a Developer Website control on that shelf.
TraditionBroadly Christian, KJVSeller on the US listing is Salem Communications Holding Corporation. The developer ribbon caption is Salem Communications. US JSON-LD types the author as Organization, name Salem Communications. The purchase configuration vendor is Salem Communications. The copyright line is “Copyright © 2020, Crosswalk.com. All rights reserved. Article Images Copyright © JupiterImages Corporation.” Pages on crosswalk.com, including the mobile app page, print “Copyright © 2026, Crosswalk.com. All rights reserved. Article Images Copyright © Getty Images unless otherwise indicated.” We do not collapse Salem Communications Holding Corporation, Salem Communications, and Crosswalk.com, and we do not collapse © 2020 and © 2026, and we do not collapse JupiterImages Corporation and Getty Images. The Salem Web Network homepage JSON-LD names “Salem Web Network,” says the network includes “Crosswalk.com, BibleStudyTools.com, Christianity.com, GodTube.com, and iBelieve.com,” and names parentOrganization “Salem Media Group.” We do not restate that page’s reach sentence. The Apple apps page links itunes.apple.com/us/app/crosswalk.com/id449591910?mt=8 with original-title “Crosswalk.com App for iOS,” and a different link itunes.apple.com/us/app/crosswalk.com-devotionals/id571008281?mt=8 with original-title “Crosswalk Devotionals App for iOS.” The more-by-developer shelf titles that second app “Crosswalk.com Devotionals,” adamId 571008281, bundle com.salemwebnetwork.Devotionals, hasInAppPurchases false. We do not treat “Crosswalk.com App for iOS,” “Crosswalk.com - Grow in Faith,” and “Crosswalk Devotionals App for iOS” as one title, and we do not treat the itunes URL and the apps.apple.com canonical URL as one string. The similar-items shelf includes Crosswalk Church app, adamId 1222723993, bundle com.subsplashconsulting.96GX2J, developer CROSSWALK SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH, hasInAppPurchases false. That listing’s seller is CROSSWALK SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH, its copyright is “App: © 2026 Subsplash, Content: © 2026 Crosswalk Church app,” its JSON-LD Offer is price 0, currency USD, and its description opens “Welcome to the official Crosswalk Church app!” and names crosswalkvillage.com and “Mobile app version: 6.19.2.” We do not treat version 2.3 and 6.19.2 as one version. Not YouVersion, not Pray.com, not First 5, not NET Bible, not Streetlights, and not Bible Hub. We do not treat this listing as a Hallow or Pray.com remount. We do not restate chart position or review marketing from the store page. We do not collapse them.
If you cannot payNo scholarship or sponsorship path published. Advent and most guided sessions require Seraph+.The app download is price 0. The mobile app page says “free access,” “free app,” and “free download.” The contact page says email devotionals continue “for free unless noted otherwise as Crosswalk Plus,” and that “Ad-free allows users to browse all free articles without advertisements on Crosswalk.” The Plus page, the subscribe page, and the gift page print no dollar sign. We found no scholarship sentence. We do not invent one, and we do not invent a Crosswalk Plus price.

Crosswalk.com’s download on the US listing is price 0, with hasInAppPurchases false. Seraph+ is $59.99/yr or $6.99/mo, auto-renews, cancel anytime. Those are not a matched pair. This check did not find a customer plan dollar on the US listing, on the Plus page, or on the subscribe page, and the Play package for this bundle returned “Not Found.” Seraph+ opens guided sessions and Sacred Seasons.

What Crosswalk.com does better

The article library, the topic home screen, and a Daily Prayer you can keep. If “read Christian living articles and devotionals, save favorites, and read the Daily Prayer” is the requirement, their US listing is built for it. The description names Bible study, spiritual insights, Christian living advice, parenting help, marriage guidance, Christian movie reviews, and “wisdom from some of today’s most respected pastors and Bible teachers.” It says you can “Select topics to customize your home screen” and “Save favorites to continue your reading when you want,” and it says the app “allows YOU to customize the content you consume.” The mobile app page says the same library is a free download from the Apple iTunes Store, in those three different “free” phrases. We charge for Sacred Seasons and for the rest of the guided library. There is no Seraph+ trial: you never try a paid session before buying it. If you want that article library without paying for the articles, Crosswalk.com is the honest recommendation, and we are not in that contest.

They are also not YouVersion (a Bible app, with its own essay), not Pray.com (a prayer audio app, with its own essay), not First 5 (a daily teaching, with its own essay), not NET Bible (a translation with notes, with its own essay), and not Streetlights (an audio Bible, with its own essay). Those are different products. This page is Crosswalk.com - Grow in Faith, sold on the US listing by Salem Communications Holding Corporation, bundle id com.salemwebnetwork.Crosswalk, id449591910. The Crosswalk Church app is a different seller and a different bundle. Crosswalk.com Devotionals is a different adamId. Bible Hub is not this page. We do not collapse them.

Other apps on the same US page do set hasInAppPurchases to true. Daily Bible Devotion & Prayer, adamId 480497450, bundle com.jctrois.devotion, and The One Bible App, adamId 481765599, bundle com.just1word.nvibible, are on the more-by-developer shelf. Turning Point Ministries, adamId 411468853, is on the similar-items shelf. Each of those sets hasInAppPurchases to true, and each subtitles standard string is “In‑App Purchases.” We do not copy that In‑App Purchases flag onto id449591910. We do not copy that subtitle onto id449591910. This check did not find an in-app purchase price list for id449591910, and we do not invent a Crosswalk Plus price from those other apps.

What Seraph does differently

Restraint as a feature, and a Bible you can finish with your eyes without an article feed. No account between you and prayer — their current store description does not say reading requires an account, and the contact page still describes a username and password for the Salem Web Network sites. Ours has no sign-up screen. Prayer data never leaves the device. Their US listing’s privacy type is No Details Provided. Their privacy policy, which the control follows to, describes applications, an advertisement example, “imprecise physical location” as an example, and selling personal information subject to an opt-out. Two prices, written in plain numbers: $59.99 a year or $6.99 a month, auto-renew, cancel anytime. The entire KJV free — readable, bundled offline on iPhone, every chapter. Their description is articles, devotionals, and the Daily Prayer, not that readable KJV. A public web office you can open without installing an app. A streak that forgives a missed day instead of shaming it. No ads on free or paid. Guided prayer paced by breath. Their website, on the contact page, says ads appear on the sites and that a Premium ad-free experience avoids them. Their app listing, on this check, does not name a plan. Ours is a season of guided prayer. We do not treat those as the same feature.

Three disclosures that belong here. The web subscription and the iPhone subscription are separate purchases and do not unlock each other. The complete offline Bible is the iPhone app; on the web, chapters you have already opened stay readable. And restoring a web subscription in a new browser emails a magic link, so we will not claim “no email ever.” There is no Seraph+ trial.

When each app wins

Crosswalk.com — if you want the article library, the Daily Prayer, or the Crosswalk.com devotional web

Start from the US listing, the mobile app page, or the Plus page. The US offer is price 0, and hasInAppPurchases is false. This check did not find a Play listing for com.salemwebnetwork.Crosswalk. Do not open the Crosswalk Church app and think you are on this page. Do not open Crosswalk.com Devotionals and think you are on this page. Do not assume the JSON-LD device string and the Information section are one sentence. Do not assume a hasInAppPurchases flag on Daily Bible Devotion & Prayer or The One Bible App is this app’s flag. Do not come here first for a silent one-flame office with no account and a public vow that prayer never leaves the device. The US listing names Salem Communications Holding Corporation as the seller. Do not open YouVersion, Pray.com, First 5, NET Bible, or Streetlights and think you are on this page. Bible Hub is not this page.

Seraph — if you want a quiet office with no account, a full readable KJV, and a price you can read before you install

Ours, last on purpose. A flame, the KJV, two free guided sessions, reading plans, no sign-up. Paid for the remaining sessions and Sacred Seasons, free for the office. Small, new, iPhone-and-web only. If none of those sentences is what you came for, Crosswalk.com is the better fit, and we would rather you found it here than felt sold to.

Sources and scope

Checked against the following official Crosswalk.com, Salem Web Network, and Salem Media Group pages on . These references do not establish an independent review or endorsement of Seraph. Subjective product fit remains our assessment. We did not quote a rating, a review count, or an install total. This check did not find a customer plan dollar on the US listing, and we did not invent one. The Plus page, the subscribe page, and the gift page print no dollar sign.
