The main difference
Consider Lectio 365 if you want a daily office you will still open in January, at no cost. 24-7 Prayer’s app is “A completely free daily devotional app”: morning Lectio Divina, midday Lord’s Prayer, night Examen. There is no paid tier to upsell you. Their app page funds that promise by asking for gifts: “We make Lectio 365 free for everyone, but this is only possible thanks to the generosity of people like you.” Their privacy notice states the app “does not require you to create an account.” The catch is the product itself: a mobile office of devotionals, not a full Bible, and not a desktop app.
Choose Seraph if you want something quieter: one flame kept daily, the whole King James Bible readable free, guided prayer paced by breath — and a hard privacy line: no account to create, no ads, and a public vow of no prayer analytics. Your prayer life stays on your device. Seraph+ is $6.99/mo or $59.99/yr on our US App Store listing and on our pricing page. The daily office is free. Sacred Seasons, including Advent, are not.

Lectio 365’s US listing and site publish no subscription because there is none to sell. Their Give page accepts gifts in several currencies, including USD, toward 24-7 Prayer’s work — that is a donation, not a plan price. No worldwide cheapest-price claim is made here — they do not sell a plan.
What Lectio 365 does better
The price of zero, and a Church year as the spine. Their Advent series costs nothing and sits beside Lent, Easter, Pentecost and the New Year. Seraph’s Candle-Lighting Calendar does not: it is Seraph+. If “free Advent” is the requirement, they meet it and we do not. The same is true of the ordinary office: morning, midday and night, every day, with nothing held back. Seraph gates ten guided sessions and Sacred Seasons behind Seraph+.
They also ship Android. They publish a Monday-ahead download window so you can take the week off-grid. They write in more than one language. They have been a 24-7 Prayer tool since 2019 — we launched in 2026. If you want three prayers a day, a free Church year, Android, or a donation-funded app with no tier above it, Lectio 365 is the honest recommendation, and we are not in that contest.
What Seraph does differently
Restraint as a feature, and a Bible you can finish. No account between you and prayer — and unlike Lectio we do not send usage statistics to Firebase; prayer data never leaves the device. Two prices, written in plain numbers: $59.99 a year or $6.99 a month. The entire KJV free — not a day’s excerpt — bundled offline on iPhone, every chapter. A public web office, which Lectio’s own FAQ says the Lectio app is not. A streak that forgives a missed day instead of shaming it. No ads on free or paid. Guided prayer paced by breath. Compare the plan and features that fit your use, rather than assuming one worldwide price difference.
Three disclosures that belong here. The web subscription and the iPhone subscription are separate purchases and do not unlock each other. The complete offline Bible is the iPhone app; on the web, chapters you have already opened stay readable. And restoring a web subscription in a new browser emails a magic link, so we will not claim “no email ever.” Lectio’s own archive is candid in the other direction: past devotionals last 30 days, then they are gone.
When each app wins
Lectio 365 — if you want a free morning, midday and night office you will still open in January
Start from their homepage or the US listing. Pray three times a day without paying anyone, including us. Take the Advent series in November if that is the season you came for; it is one series among the year, not a separate product. Use Android if that is your phone. Give through 24-7 Prayer if the work is worth supporting. Do not come here first for a full Bible in the translation you already use, or for a desktop office — they are a mobile daily office, and they say so.
Seraph — if you want a quiet office with no account, a full KJV, and a price you can read before you install
Ours, last on purpose. A flame, the KJV, two free guided sessions, reading plans, no sign-up. Paid for the remaining sessions and Sacred Seasons, free for the office. Small, new, iPhone-and-web only. If none of those sentences is what you came for, Lectio 365 is the better fit, and we would rather you found it here than felt sold to.
