Seraph vs Logos
A study library that keeps books beside the verse, with a download price of zero and paid plans after that, and a quieter flame that never asks for an account. This page is written by the maker of Seraph — read it knowing that — and it will be generous to Logos, because the library is real and the free edition they describe is real.
Our bias, declared: we make Seraph. The linked Logos sources support the specific download price, in-app purchase list, store descriptions, account wording, and privacy wording identified below; this is not an independent review of either app. Our product details describe Seraph’s current published offering. The main difference
Consider Logos if you want Scripture with commentaries and more than one translation, including on Android, and a desktop or browser app. The US listing (id336400266) on this check is titled “Logos Bible,” subtitle “Read, learn, and grow anywhere,” seller Faithlife Corporation, category Reference, age 4+, copyright © 2026 Logos, bundle id com.logos.ilogos. JSON-LD Offer on that page is price 0, currency USD. Offer data sets isFree to true, hasInAppPurchases to true, and hasExternalPurchases to false. The offer title is “Get.” The Information section’s In-App Purchases list on this check shows ten lines. We quote those ten. We do not invent prices past that list. Listing copy: “over 40 free Bibles and books including powerful commentaries,” Reading Plans, Study Assistant and Smart Search with “limited free uses,” Factbook, and Notes. We do not have Android, a desktop app, or a multi-translation study library.

Logos’s download on the US listing is price 0, with hasInAppPurchases true. Logos Plus (Yearly) on that list is $49.99. Seraph+ is $59.99/yr or $6.99/mo, auto-renews, cancel anytime. Those are not a matched pair. This check did not find a Contains Advertising line on the US listing. The Play listing has a Contains ads chip. The privacy policy describes advertising, cookies, and pixel tags. We do not turn the missing US line into a claim that the iPhone app is ad-free, and we do not turn the Play chip into a claim that the US listing says the app contains ads.
What Logos does better
Study depth, more than one translation, Android, a desktop and browser app, and a download price of zero. If “read the passage with a commentary and a second translation” is the requirement, their US listing and Play listing are built for it. Both pages name over 40 free Bibles and books. The FAQ says a free edition remains, with Bible Word Study and a limited Factbook. The subscribe page names Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and the browser. They ship Android. We charge for Sacred Seasons and for the rest of the guided library. There is no Seraph+ trial: you never try a paid session before buying it. If you want a study library you can buy into, Logos is the honest recommendation, and we are not in that contest.
They are also not Bible Gateway (HarperCollins, with ads on the free reader and a Plus subscription on the pages we cite there), not YouVersion, not Dwell, not Blue Letter Bible (a separate essay), not Olive Tree (a separate essay), and not Verbum. Those are different products. This page is Logos Bible, sold on the US listing by Faithlife Corporation, bundle id com.logos.ilogos.
What Seraph does differently
Restraint as a feature, and a Bible you can finish with your eyes. No account between you and prayer — their privacy policy requires an email address, name, and password to sign up, and the store listings say to create a free account. Ours has no sign-up screen. Prayer data never leaves the device. Their US listing reports purchases, location, contact info, user content, identifiers, usage data, and diagnostics linked to you, and their Play page says the app may share personal info and app activity with third parties. Two prices, written in plain numbers: $59.99 a year or $6.99 a month, auto-renew, cancel anytime. The entire KJV free — readable, bundled offline on iPhone, every chapter — rather than a menu of translations the store pages do not name as KJV. A public web office you can open without installing an app. A streak that forgives a missed day instead of shaming it. No ads on free or paid. Guided prayer paced by breath. Compare the plan and features that fit your use. Their year on the US list is Logos Plus. Ours is a season of guided prayer.
Three disclosures that belong here. The web subscription and the iPhone subscription are separate purchases and do not unlock each other. The complete offline Bible is the iPhone app; on the web, chapters you have already opened stay readable. And restoring a web subscription in a new browser emails a magic link, so we will not claim “no email ever.” There is no Seraph+ trial.
When each app wins
Logos — if you want study tools on the verse, more than one translation, Android, or a desktop app
Start from the US listing, the Play listing, or the subscription FAQ. Read what they name as free before you subscribe. The US list prices Plus at $4.99 a month and $49.99 a year, and Premium at $9.99 a month, and it does not show a Premium year. The FAQ’s 30-day trial is a FAQ sentence, not a number of days on the store descriptions. The subscribe page tells you to check “Pay for 2 years and get 5 months free.” The FAQ tells you to check “Add an extra year.” Neither sentence printed a dollar on this check. Use Android, Windows, or the browser if that is your machine, and do not assume the US Information section names those devices. Do not come here first for a silent one-flame office with no account and a public vow that prayer never leaves the device. The US listing names Faithlife Corporation as the seller.
Seraph — if you want a quiet office with no account, a full readable KJV, and a price you can read before you install
Ours, last on purpose. A flame, the KJV, two free guided sessions, reading plans, no sign-up. Paid for the remaining sessions and Sacred Seasons, free for the office. Small, new, iPhone-and-web only. If none of those sentences is what you came for, Logos is the better fit, and we would rather you found it here than felt sold to.
